It's cold!!

My cousin Katie participated in her first 1/2 marathon last weekend and all her spirit and encouragement, and helpful tips have made me even more excited about training for my own. This week I have been in TNT and training mode FULL FORCE and I have to say that I love it!! We started off the week by meeting with a Chiropractor to talk about injury prevention and stretching techniques (we got lost of cool stuff). He also let each of us set up an appointment for a free Gait Scan, yeah I had no idea what this was until he explained. There is an awesome computerized scan where you basically set on a platform which scan and takes like 400 pictures a second of your foot. This will tell you how you run/walk/step on your feet and what injuries you might be prone to. It will also be extremely helpful for our shoe clinic next week since he is giving up the scan results so we can be fitted for the proper running shoes, and what girl doesn't need a new pair of shoes! Tuesday we all met for a team run... 3 miles... so the mileage was easy, but the freezing temperature, not so much! I was bundled up in pants, 3 top layers, gloves... I may be from Buffalo, but I have spoiled the last few years living in Ft. Lauderdale and Charlotte. I tried to keep up to the 3 strong runners in front of me, but that was a tough feat which will only make me stronger. Today is another 3 mile run... 30 degrees. BURRRR. We'll see how that goes! Don't forget to donate and continue to spread the word about such an amazing cause! Watch for my March Madness brackets fundraising effort next month.
